چکیده

Dynamic Modulus, E* is a crucial property of the hot mix asphalt (HMA). For AASHTOWare Pavement ME design, an essential material input. can be measured in laboratory or predicted using different models based on some fundamental properties HMA. The NCHRP 1-37A and 1-40D prediction are two main adopted by to predict HMA mixture volumetrics, gradation, binder properties. objective this research was validate these local mixes for purpose regional application design Egypt. purpose, values ten locally plant-produced were laboratory. then used estimate same materials. Consequently, performance both studied comparing estimated values. results showed that model satisfactorily Egyptian with minimal bias high accuracy. yielded adjusted coefficient determination (R2) 0.86 480 measurements. On other hand, accuracy not satisfactory, very poor (Adjusted R2 = 0.18) bias. Afterwards, effect from pavement terms rutting, cracking, roughness further studied. Accordingly, twenty-four simulation runs typical cases conducted using, first, and, then, predictions had no significant distresses ranged 0.980, AC 0.9996 International Roughness Index (IRI). Hence, without compromising structural design.

Calibration of Pavement ME Design and Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide Performance Prediction Models for Iowa Pavement Systems

The AASHTO Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG) pavement performance models and the associated AASHTOWare® Pavement ME Design software are nationally calibrated using design inputs and distress data largely from the national Long-Term Pavement Performance (LTPP). Further calibration and validation studies are necessary for local highway agencies’ implementation by taking into acc...

High Modulus Pavement Design Using Accelerated Loading Testing (alt)

In anticipation of the introduction of high modulus materials in the Swiss standards, a research project has been carried out for the evaluation of these bituminous mixtures. Three full-size test sections were built in a test hall for ALT named Halle-fosse: Two sections with two different high modulus bituminous mixtures (named EME, abbreviation of the French designation of the mixture: Enrobé ...

The Nationwide Implementation of Pavement Prediction Modeling in New Zealand

During 1998 the New Zealand (NZ) RIMS Group (Road Information Management Systems) initiated Phase I of a national project titled “Implementation of Predictive Modelling for Road Management”. This representative group comprises members representing all levels of government in NZ including the funding agency. The project arose from the need to implement a credible system that would be used to pre...

Pavement performance prediction model development for Tehran

Highways and in particular their pavements are the fundamental components of the road network. They require continuous maintenance since they deteriorate due to changing traffic and environmental conditions. Monitoring methods and efficient pavement management systems are needed for optimizing maintenance operations. Pavement performance prediction models are useful tools for determining the op...
